How the Stake VIP program works
Every wager you place on Stake earns XP (experience points), regardless of whether the bet wins or loses. XP accumulates against your tier threshold, and crossing the threshold promotes you to the next tier. There is no application process, no qualification window to reset, and no risk of being demoted for inactivity — once you're at a tier, you stay there.
The five public tiers are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Beyond Diamond there are private invite-only tiers (Diamond II, Diamond III, Obsidian) that unlock progressively richer rakeback, larger reload limits and bespoke promotions, but Stake doesn't publish exact requirements for those — they're communicated through your VIP host.
Tier-by-tier breakdown
Bronze is the entry tier — reached after a small amount of qualifying wagering. It unlocks baseline daily rakeback that you can claim from your account dashboard. Silver adds weekly bonuses and a higher rakeback rate. Gold adds monthly bonuses, larger reload limits and access to the level-up reward track.
Platinum is where the program becomes genuinely valuable. Platinum players see significantly higher cashback percentages on net losses, exclusive race entries, faster withdrawal priority and access to a dedicated VIP host. Diamond — the top public tier — adds the largest cashback rates, the highest rakeback multipliers, custom bonuses negotiated through your host, and invitations to live events.

Rakeback: the math that actually matters
Rakeback is a percentage of every bet returned to you, regardless of outcome. The percentage is small per individual wager but compounds significantly across high volume. Bronze rakeback is modest; by Diamond, the effective rakeback rate combined with cashback can offset a meaningful chunk of the house edge on certain games.
The key insight: rakeback is paid on every wager, not just losses. If you wager $100,000 across a month and break even, you still earn rakeback on that $100,000. That's why high-volume grinders specifically target Stake — the rakeback structure rewards turnover, not outcome.
Our deep dive Stake VIP rakeback explained shows the actual percentages by tier and game category, including how rakeback interacts with promotional bonuses.
How cashback is calculated
Cashback is paid on net losses — your total deposits minus your total withdrawals for the period. It's paid weekly at lower tiers and monthly at higher tiers, and the percentage scales with your VIP tier. Cashback only triggers when you're net-negative for the period; a winning week pays zero cashback regardless of volume.
Cashback is calculated per cryptocurrency, not in aggregate USD. If you win in BTC and lose in ETH during the same week, you receive ETH cashback. This is important to understand if you frequently switch coins — splitting volume across coins can affect when cashback triggers.
Cashback is paid as withdrawable balance with no wagering requirement, which makes it one of the cleanest forms of EV in the program. See our Stake cashback hub for the full calculation walkthrough.
Level-up rewards and challenges
Level-ups are one-off bonus drops triggered every time you cross a fixed wager threshold ($10,000 at lower tiers, scaling up at higher tiers). They're paid instantly to your balance with no wagering requirement attached, which makes them effectively pure EV.
Higher-tier players also get access to challenges — specific objectives on featured games (e.g. "hit a 100x multiplier on Sweet Bonanza this week") that pay flat bonuses on completion. Challenges rotate weekly and are visible in your account dashboard.
The VIP host: what they actually do
At Platinum and above, you're assigned a dedicated VIP host — a real person, reachable via in-app chat or Telegram. The host can authorize custom bonuses, expedite withdrawals, resolve account issues that would normally go through general support, and arrange invitations to in-person events Stake sponsors throughout the year.
Hosts also negotiate one-off offers based on your play history — birthday bonuses, reload boosts during slow periods, race ticket grants, and occasionally exclusive promotions tied to specific game launches. Players who actually use their host (rather than ignore the channel) consistently get more out of the program.
What it actually takes to reach Diamond
Stake doesn't publish exact XP thresholds, but community estimates put Diamond in the range of millions of dollars in lifetime wagering. That sounds extreme, but at $1 average bet size on slots, a session of 10,000 spins is $10,000 in wagering — and Stake's most active players run sessions that order of magnitude weekly.
Diamond is a long-term position, not a short-term grind target. The realistic path to Diamond is consistent play over months while taking advantage of cashback and rakeback to reduce variance — chasing the tier with aggressive play almost always loses more to variance than it saves in tier benefits.
How VIP rewards stack with promotional bonuses
VIP rakeback, cashback and level-ups all pay on top of any promotional bonus you're clearing. If you're working through welcome bonus wagering, you're simultaneously earning rakeback on every bet, accruing toward your next level-up, and contributing to cashback calculations. Nothing gets disqualified by having an active bonus.
The one exception: some heavily-discounted promotional bonuses (specific code-driven offers) may exclude rakeback contributions while active. The terms are spelled out in the bonus itself when you redeem the code.
How Stake's VIP program compares to other crypto casinos
Most crypto casinos publish flashy headline rakeback numbers but bury the actual mechanics. Stake's program is unusually transparent at the lower tiers (rakeback rates are visible in your account) and unusually generous at the upper tiers (cashback percentages at Diamond are well above the industry baseline).
The trade-off: Stake doesn't run aggressive sign-up bonuses for high rollers the way some competitors do. The value is in the long-term recurring rewards, not a one-time deposit match. If you're a casual player chasing a single bonus, the welcome match is the headline; if you're a long-term player, the VIP program is where the value compounds.
Common questions
Is the Stake VIP program automatic?
Yes. Every wager earns XP automatically — there's no application, no opt-in, and no risk of demotion. You progress through tiers simply by playing.
Can I lose my VIP tier?
No. Once you reach a tier, you keep it permanently. There's no inactivity reset and no demotion mechanic.
What's the difference between rakeback and cashback at Stake?
Rakeback is a percentage of every wager returned regardless of outcome. Cashback is a percentage of net losses returned during periods you're net-negative. They stack — you can earn both on the same wagering.
How long does it take to reach Platinum?
Depends entirely on volume. Casual players (a few hundred dollars per week) may take many months. High-volume players can hit Platinum within weeks. The XP requirements scale steeply.
What does a Stake VIP host actually do?
VIP hosts authorize custom bonuses, expedite withdrawals, resolve account issues outside normal support channels, and arrange invitations to Stake-sponsored events. Players who actively use their host get measurably more from the program.
Are there tiers above Diamond?
Yes — Diamond II, Diamond III and Obsidian are private invite-only tiers with progressively richer rewards. Stake doesn't publish requirements; they're communicated through your VIP host.
Does the VIP program apply to sportsbook bets?
Yes. Sportsbook wagering contributes to XP, rakeback and cashback calculations on the same basis as casino wagering, though contribution rates may differ between products.
Can I claim VIP rewards while a welcome bonus is active?
Yes. Rakeback, cashback and level-up rewards stack on top of any active promotional bonus. The one exception is specific code-driven offers that explicitly exclude rakeback while active.
