How fast and how cheap
Solana produces a new block roughly every 400 milliseconds. A transaction broadcast to the network is typically confirmed within 1–2 seconds, with finalisation (the point at which reversal becomes economically infeasible) within 13 seconds. Stake credits SOL deposits after the deposit reaches the 'finalised' commitment level — so the practical wait is about 15 seconds from broadcast to playable balance.
Fees are a fraction of a cent per transaction — typically 0.000005 SOL, or about $0.0007 at typical SOL prices. The fee is fixed regardless of transaction size, so a $10 deposit costs the same as a $10,000 deposit. This makes Solana the only chain where micro-deposits are economically lossless.
The SPL token trap (must read)
Solana's deposit address accepts native SOL only — not USDC-SPL, not USDT-SPL, not any wrapped token. Sending an SPL token (Solana's equivalent of an ERC-20) to a SOL-only address means the funds technically arrive on-chain but Stake's accounting system doesn't credit them. Recovery requires support intervention and is not guaranteed.
If you want to deposit USDC or USDT on the Solana network, use Stake's dedicated USDC-SPL or USDT-SPL deposit address — they're separate from the SOL address. See our USDT deposit guide for the network-by-network address structure.
Solana's network reliability profile
Solana has experienced several network-wide outages over its history — periods of several hours where transactions failed to confirm. The frequency has decreased significantly with each major upgrade, but outages remain a theoretical risk. During an outage, your deposit will eventually confirm when the network recovers; nothing is lost, just delayed.
If you're broadcasting a Solana deposit and it doesn't appear on a block explorer within a minute, check Solana network status before retrying. Stake's deposit page is unaffected by Solana outages because the platform monitors the chain rather than pushing transactions itself.
Wallets and getting SOL in the first place
Phantom is the dominant Solana wallet (browser extension and mobile) and integrates cleanly with most exchanges and DeFi protocols. Solflare, Backpack and Glow are alternatives with strong feature sets. Ledger hardware wallets support Solana via Phantom or Solflare integration.
Major exchanges (Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, Crypto.com) all support SOL withdrawals to native Solana addresses. Always confirm 'Solana' as the network when withdrawing — some exchanges also support SOL on Ethereum (wrapped) which is a completely different asset.
Solana address format and verification
Solana addresses are base58-encoded public keys, typically 32–44 characters long, starting with any alphanumeric character. They look distinctly different from Bitcoin (1, 3, bc1) or Ethereum (0x) addresses, so accidental cross-chain sends are less likely than in the ETH/L2/wrapped ecosystem.
The main verification step is matching the address character-by-character from Stake's deposit page to your wallet's send field. Malware that swaps the clipboard contents is a real risk across all chains, so visual verification before broadcasting is non-negotiable for any deposit size.
Where SOL deposits genuinely shine
For players who treat their casino bankroll like a session-based pool — depositing what they want to play that night, withdrawing winnings immediately — Solana is uniquely well-suited. The 15-second settlement and sub-cent fees mean there's no friction cost to moving funds around.
For long-term bankroll holders who deposit large amounts and play down over weeks, Solana's speed advantage matters less; BTC, ETH or stablecoins are equally fine for that pattern. The choice comes down to what you already hold and what your trading or DeFi exposure looks like outside Stake.
SOL withdrawals: same speed, same low cost
Stake processes SOL withdrawals back to any valid Solana address with the same sub-cent fee profile. Withdrawals typically clear in 30 seconds end-to-end for verified accounts, making SOL the fastest withdrawal rail Stake offers alongside Lightning.
If you're cycling funds rapidly, the only friction left is Stake's internal withdrawal review (which may take a minute for safety on larger amounts). Once approved, the on-chain leg is essentially instant.

Common questions
How long does a Solana deposit take to credit at Stake?
Roughly 15 seconds end-to-end — broadcast, finalisation, and Stake's confirmation handshake.
What's the fee for a Solana deposit?
About $0.0007 — a fraction of a cent. Fixed regardless of deposit size.
Can I send USDC-SPL or USDT-SPL to my Stake SOL address?
No — those are separate token contracts and require Stake's dedicated SPL token deposit addresses. Sending SPL tokens to a native SOL address typically results in unrecoverable loss.
What happens if Solana has a network outage during my deposit?
The transaction queues until the network recovers, then confirms normally. Your funds aren't lost — just delayed until consensus resumes.
Is Solana a safer choice than Ethereum for casino deposits?
Different tradeoffs. Solana is faster and cheaper. Ethereum has a longer track record and stronger decentralisation guarantees. Both are perfectly suitable for casino deposits at typical sizes.
