Before you start: account state checklist
Make sure you've created and verified your email on Stake before initiating any deposit. The account doesn't need full KYC for a typical first deposit — Stake is largely KYC-light at low volumes — but the email confirmation step locks your account to your address and is required before withdrawals work. Set 2FA in Account → Security at the same time; you don't want to be doing that after funds are loaded.
If you intend to claim the welcome bonus, read our Stake bonuses hub before depositing — bonuses must be opted into during the deposit flow, not afterward. The 200% match is covered end-to-end in the welcome bonus article.
Step-by-step: crypto deposit (recommended path)
From the Stake dashboard, click Wallet (top-right). Select Deposit, then pick the cryptocurrency you want to send. Stake supports BTC, ETH, LTC, SOL, USDT, USDC, XRP, BNB, TRX, DOGE and roughly two dozen other coins — the full list lives on the supported cryptocurrencies hub. Choose carefully: each coin has multiple supported networks (USDT on Tron, Ethereum, or Solana; ETH on mainnet or Arbitrum) and sending on the wrong network usually means lost funds.
Stake displays a deposit address (a long alphanumeric string) and, for some coins, a QR code. Copy the address verbatim — never type it manually. In your sending wallet, paste the address, enter the amount, double-check the network matches what Stake displayed, and broadcast. Lightning works differently: Stake generates a one-time invoice instead of an address, and you scan or paste it into a Lightning wallet. See our Lightning walkthrough for the full UX.
Confirmation times by network
Crypto credit times are dictated by the network, not by Stake. Lightning credits instantly. Solana, Litecoin and USDT-on-Tron credit within 30 seconds to 2 minutes once one network confirmation lands. Bitcoin on-chain requires 2 confirmations (typically 20–45 minutes). Ethereum mainnet requires roughly 12 block confirmations (around 3 minutes post-merge). XRP credits within 5–10 seconds — see our Stake XRP deposit page for the full timing breakdown.
If a deposit appears stuck, first check the transaction on the relevant block explorer. If the network shows the transaction as confirmed but Stake hasn't credited, give it another 10 minutes — Stake polls confirmations on a schedule, not in real time. After 30 minutes past confirmation, open support chat with the transaction hash.
Fiat on-ramps (cards and bank rails)
Stake doesn't accept direct fiat card deposits in most jurisdictions. Instead, it integrates with third-party on-ramps (MoonPay, Banxa, Mercuryo) that let you buy crypto with a Visa/Mastercard inside the Stake interface, then auto-deposit the result. Fees are noticeably higher than buying crypto on an exchange first — expect 3–5% on top of the spread. For a one-off small deposit, the convenience often justifies it; for serious bankroll funding, buy on Kraken or Coinbase first and transfer.
Apple Pay and Google Pay route through the same third-party on-ramps. Bank-transfer (SEPA, Faster Payments) availability depends on your country — typically available in the EU and UK, not in the US or Canada. See our Stake payment methods hub for the per-country availability matrix.
Minimums, maximums and bonus thresholds
Stake's platform-side minimum is roughly $10 equivalent for most coins, with some lower-value coins (DOGE, SHIB) having higher minimums in token terms to avoid sub-economic transactions. There is no platform maximum on deposits, though very large first-time deposits can trigger a one-time source-of-funds review. We cover this in detail in our stake KYC guide.
If you're claiming the welcome bonus, deposit at least the minimum bonus-qualifying amount (typically $20). Below that, the 200% match doesn't trigger. The full minimum-deposit breakdown lives on our minimum deposit page.
Common deposit errors and how to fix them
Wrong-network sends are the single most damaging error. Sending USDT-ERC20 to a USDT-TRC20 deposit address (or vice versa) means the funds land at an address Stake doesn't control. Recovery is sometimes possible through support if the chains share an address format, but never assume — always verify the network selector matches in both your wallet and Stake's deposit screen.
Wrong-coin sends (sending BNB to an ETH address, for example, on an EVM network) sometimes credit and sometimes don't, depending on whether Stake's deposit address is a smart contract or a standard wallet. Lightning invoice expiry is another frequent error — invoices expire in roughly 5 minutes; if your wallet was idle, generate a new one. For a full troubleshooting matrix, see our crypto deposits hub.
What to do immediately after your first deposit
Verify the credited balance matches what you sent (minus any network fees you paid on the sending side — Stake itself charges no deposit fee). If you opted into the welcome bonus, confirm the bonus credit is showing in your bonus balance and read the wagering requirements before playing. The full bonus mechanics are covered in our welcome bonus article.
Set responsible-gambling limits in Account → Responsible Gambling before placing your first bet. Deposit limits, session timers and reality-check intervals all exist for a reason; configure them now rather than after a tilt session.

Common questions
What's the fastest way to deposit on Stake?
Lightning Network for BTC or USDT on Tron — both credit within seconds. Solana and XRP are next-fastest. Bitcoin on-chain and Ethereum mainnet are the slowest commonly-used rails.
Does Stake charge a deposit fee?
No. Stake charges zero deposit fees on any rail. The only cost is the network fee paid to miners, validators or routing nodes by the sending wallet.
Can I deposit with a credit card directly?
Not directly. Card deposits route through third-party on-ramps (MoonPay, Banxa, Mercuryo) that convert your card payment to crypto and auto-deposit. Expect 3–5% extra cost vs depositing crypto you already own.
What if my deposit doesn't show up?
Verify the transaction is confirmed on the block explorer. Wait 10 minutes after confirmation in case of polling delay. After 30 minutes, contact Stake support with the transaction hash.
Is there a minimum deposit for the welcome bonus?
Yes — typically around $20 equivalent. Below the threshold, the 200% match doesn't trigger even if you opt in. See our minimum deposit page for the exact current threshold.
